| Our
Home At Home Close we provide nursing care, residential care and a day care centre. The bright, welcoming purpose built accommodation is laid out over two floors with eight wings which are named after local villages, Grantchester, Teversham, Horningsea, Barrington, Wandlebury, Madingley, Dry Drayton and Cherry Hinton. Each wing contains lounge and dining areas as well as kitchen and bathroom facilities. The light, airy bedrooms are decorated to a high standard and exceptionally well furnished, but we encourage our residents to bring items of their own furniture and possessions with them so that their room can become truly their own. Location Home Close is in a quiet location on the outskirts of Cambridge yet within easy reach of the A14 and served by good public transport links. It is set within its own large landscaped grounds that are bordered by many mature trees, creating a private peaceful environment. In good weather, many of our residents like to walk in the grounds or sit and take tea under the shade of spreading branches. As well as the extensive lawns, there are many shrub and flower borders which continually change with the seasons, providing interest to residents and visitors alike. Care Staff Our care staff are trained to the highest standards and chosen not only for their skills, but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. They are on hand around the clock to provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual. Facilities We regularly assess each resident so that we can be sure their needs are met and supply specialised equipment if required. An optician, dentist, and chiropodist visit by appointment, and the in-house hairdressing salon provides all the usual services plus manicures and hand massages. Our catering staff provide delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, as well as special dishes for those with particular dietary requirements. Activities Home Close benefits from a purpose built Activity Centre where Residents can take part in as many or as few activities as they like. Individual Care We strongly believe that no matter what level of care is required, everyone deserves the same attention and has the same right to live life to the full. We aim to make our residents’ lives enjoyable and satisfying, enabling them to meet new friends and keep in touch with existing ones. Family and friends are always welcome at Home Close and we value their involvement in our resident’s care.
