Our Home
Fornham House offers a choice of amenities for gracious living. Five lounges, including the Constable Lounge where many social activities take place, are complemented by patio and garden areas for summer outdoor relaxation. Generous single rooms, all with ensuite facilities, are tastefully decorated and provide our residents with the necessary facilities for a quality life in later years. Although all rooms are fully furnished, we encourage residents to bring with them items of furniture and personal possessions so that their room can be a true 'home from home'.
Location
Fornham House is situated in the picturesque village of Fornham St Martin, just a couple of miles from the centre of Bury St Edmunds. Set in extensive grounds with views over the surrounding countryside, our residents can relax in seating areas surrounded by colourful flower beds, mature trees, and a large pond with water feature, aquatic plants and fish. The village fete is held on alternate years at the home ensuring our links are maintained with the local community.
Care Staff
Our care staff are trained to the highest standards and chosen not only for their skills but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. They are on hand around the clock to provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual.
Facilities
We regularly assess each resident so that we can be sure their needs are met and supply specialised equipment if required. An optician and chiropodist visit by appointment, and there is an in-house hairdressing salon. Our catering staff provides delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, as well as special dishes for those with particular dietary requirements.
Activities
Fornham House has the benefit of an Activities Coordinator with whom Residents can arrange to take part in as many, or as few, activities as they wish. Our activity leaflet gives more information about what is on offer.
Individual Care
We strongly believe that no matter what level of care is required, everyone deserves the same attention and has the same right to live life to the full. We aim to make our residents’ lives enjoyable and satisfying, enabling them to meet new friends and keep in touch with existing ones. Family and friends are always welcome at Fornham House and we value their involvement in our resident’s care. Above all, we promote individual choice in a caring environment that is free from stress or worry. We also offer weekly Communion.
