Our Home
Maynell House provides a high standard of residential care. The House is a late Victorian building, formerly the Felixstowe College, lovingly extended and refurbished to retain its original features, creating a superb home with a real difference. Inviting lounges allow our residents to relax or socialise in this wonderful environment. All the bedrooms offer en-suite facilities, television and telephone access. Whilst all rooms are fully furnished, we encourage residents to bring with them items of furniture and personal possessions so that their room can be a true home from home.
Location
Maynell House is situated only a short distance from the town centre in a delightful residential part of Old Felixstowe. Shops and amenities are therefore close at hand. Our residents are also welcome to enjoy two acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, filled with mature trees and carefully tended lawns offering a variety of interesting surroundings and places to rest. The proximity of the nearby sea and cliffs also give residents the opportunity of a number of different short walks.
Care Staff
Our care staff are trained to the highest standards and chosen not only for their skills, but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. They are on hand around the clock to provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual.
Facilities
We regularly assess each resident so that we can be sure their needs are met and supply specialised equipment if required. An optician, dentist, and chiropodist visit by appointment, and the in-house hairdressing salon provides all the usual services plus manicures and hand massages. Our catering staff provide delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, as well as special dishes for those with particular dietary requirements.
Activities
Maynell House has the benefit of an Activities Coordinator with whom Residents can arrange to take part in as many, or as few, activities as they wish. Our activity leaflet gives more information about what is on offer.
Individual Care
We strongly believe that no matter what level of care is required, everyone deserves the same attention and has the same right to live life to the full. We aim to make our residents’ lives enjoyable and satisfying, enabling them to meet new friends and keep in touch with existing ones. Family and friends are always welcome at Maynell House and we value their involvement in our resident’s care. Above all, we promote individual choice in a caring environment that is free from stress or worry.
