Oaklands House provides hotel-style accommodation, which makes it an ideal choice for anyone seeking a high quality lifestyle in their later years. The handsome entrance hall leads on to a number of exquisite reception rooms, all furnished and decorated to a very high standard. The stunning south-facing conservatory is ideal for peace and quiet but is also a popular meeting place for residents and guests. All our bedrooms are fully furnished but we welcome as much or as little of your own furniture and effects as you wish.
Location
Oaklands House is situated near to the centre of Southwold. This famous town with its excellent shopping, beach and pier even has a famous brewery to visit. Surrounded by nearly five acres of mature woodland, Oaklands House has a unique location in the Suffolk countryside amongst a wide range of flora and fauna. It has extensive views over the tree-lined gardens, which also provide a perfect setting for walks or relaxation.
Care Staff
Our care staff are trained to the highest standards and chosen not only for their skills but also for their warmth, friendliness and caring attitude. They are on hand around the clock to provide professional care that respects the rights and dignity of the individual.
Facilities
We regularly assess each resident so that we can be sure their needs are met and supply specialised equipment if required. An optician, dentist, and chiropodist visit by appointment, and the in-house hairdressing salon provides all the usual services plus manicures and hand massages. Our catering staff provides delicious meals and snacks throughout the day, as well as special dishes for those with particular dietary requirements.
Activities
Oaklands House has the benefit of an Activities Coordinator with whom Residents can arrange to take part in as many or as few activities as they wish. Our activity leaflet gives more information about what is on offer. We also run our own mini-bus to give residents plenty of opportunity to enjoy outings and excursions.
Individual Care
We strongly believe that no matter what level of care is required, everyone deserves the same attention and has the same right to live life to the full. We aim to make our residents’ lives enjoyable and satisfying, enabling them to meet new friends and keep in touch with existing ones. Family and friends are always welcome at Oaklands House and we value their involvement in our resident’s care.
