“I choose this home because I had visited several locally, and was impressed with the grounds and the staff.”

“I would recommend this home, it is outstanding.”

“My friend had an emergency respite admission, but once she had recovered she liked it so much that she decided to stay.”

"I would like to thank Healthcare Homes for the wonderful job in caring for my Mother.  Her room was always clean and tidy and the staff very kind, especially the nurses.  All the managers I met were very kind too."

"Please pass on to the relevant person concerned how kind and caring all the staff at Aldringham Court have been during my Mum's stay."

“Many thanks for all your kindness, support and excellent care that you have given me throughout my stay at Barking Hall. I much appreciate it. And also a big thank you for whom you have also provided support for. Many thanks. Keep up the good work.”

“To all the wonderful staff at Barking Hall; thank you all so much for looking after my husband for me. You kept him so clean and comfortable. My family and I are so grateful for this and couldn’t wish for him to be in a better home."

“I would like to thank you all for your care and kindness over the last few weeks. It set my mind at rest that she was so well looked after as well as having interesting things to do.”

"I couldn't be more pleased and comforted in the knowledge that, despite being a resident for only a few months, it was where Daddy felt at home. There were many times a carer would take a detour and just 'pop in' to see Daddy, although they might have been working on a different floor, they were so devoted to him and he to them."

"I would like to say a big thank you to the people who cared for my husband at Barking Hall; no easy task as he was so very ill.  However he was as happy as he could be there and liked his room very much with a view of houses, church etc."

"Please thank the Barking Hall staff for the love and care they showed my Mother.  My elderly inlaws have shown an interest in Barking Hall due to the exemplary way in which my Mother was cared for, and I will be recommending Healthcare Homes to them."

"My Father only stayed for a brief time before his demise, but in that short time he was made very comfortable and treated with respect and thoughtfulness.

Your industry in the past year has received many bad press reports, including some establishments and people being taken to law, prosecuted and receiving the appropriate punishment.  Barking Hall in my brief experience was an example of professionalism and compassion that met all our hopes and expectations and was so far removed from the unscrupulous sectors of your industry.

Not only did my Father receive first class care, but my Mother and family members were shown wonderful kindness and compassion.  We were made to feel welcome and our worries, questions and anxieties were dealt with speedily and professionally."

"Thank you and all your staff for the excellent care and support you have given."

"My wife and I have been very pleased and satisfied with the level of care and dedication shown to her by all the staff at Barking Hall during her relatively short stay there."

"On behalf of St Mary's Church PCC, I am writing to thank you for your contribution to the successful celebration at the Church on Saturday. Your interesting displays made the Church not only look wonderful but also welcoming and alive.  It was lovely to see so many people from the community enjoying themselves there.  We are grateful for all your hard work and help." 06.06.16

"I wanted to contact you to say a big thank you to Nicky for organising the trip to the Suffolk Food Hall this week.

It was a good choice, particularly faced with our current wet weather. I arrived just as the bus was unloaded, Mother was so surprised and delighted to see me. We enjoyed a trip around the garden centre and shop, followed by scones and tea upstairs in their restaurant, with a fabulous view over the Orwell River, fields and of course the Orwell Bridge.

It was kind of Nicky, although busy, to keep me informed about timings on the day. She is a kind, caring and very thoughtful person and a credit to Barking Hall." 16.06.16

"I feel that I must write and thank you for the wonderful reception I got when I visited my friend at 'The Hut' Felixstowe on Tuesday 4 October.  It was lovely seeing her again.  I did so enjoy the fish and chips, ice cream and drinks you so kindly gave to me.  Also I thought the staff were wonderful.  Many thanks once again, love to you all, especially my friend whom I've known for many years."

“On behalf of the relatives and friends of Beaumont Park, they would like to thank you for the BBQ. The preparation and the organising of these events is very time consuming but most of all very much appreciated by us all. Once again, well done and thank you.”

"Congratulations to the hard work from staff who made it a truly great afternoon for all."

"My wife moved into Beaumont Park in November last year, I am writing to let you know how pleased I am with the care given by all staff including the Manager.  I am always made welcome, all the staff are friendly and have genuine care. When I am not there, I am confident that she is getting the best care possible and this gives me peace of mind."

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Beaumont Park for their outstanding care, with special thanks to the Manager, Phillip Barton, who goes above and beyond of what is expected of him."

“The staff are totally amazing, I cannot believe the level of support and care my Father receives. It totally exceeds expectations.”

“From the time Mum arrived with you we have always been overjoyed with the care you have provided.  You are all a credit to your profession and should be very proud of the work you do. We could not have wished for a more loving, caring and well-kept home for Mum.”

“My Father hasn’t been this happy since before Mum died. It’s wonderful to know his quality of life is this good in his twilight years.”

"My Mother was part of your family and even though she had dementia, I'm sure she knew how much you all loved her and cared both for her and about her.  Even the youngest members of staff show a caring maturity beyond their years.  You're an incredible bunch of people and deserve the very best that life can give, because of the way you so selflessly give to those less fortunate.  Doing your job is one thing but being part of 'Bilney team' is something very special."

"I am writing to you on behalf of my family to thank you and your staff for the wonderful care you gave to our mum.  The staff at Bilney always treated her with great care and would always share a joke with her which she loved.  We could not fault any of you and the respect and affection you showed her was very special indeed."

"Just want to say how impressed I was today when visiting to see a patient.  I regularly go to care homes where I see people staring at a cream painted wall, particularly those who are in their bed 24/7 and unable to communicate their needs, no stimulation, music, books or pictures on the wall.  Today I mention those I saw, TVs at the right height, volume and even voice over, patients at an angle where they can see.  People reading up to date papers, music (suitable for the age group) entertainment and beautiful environment, with kind, sensitive staff; really refreshing!  Sorry this is rushed but I feel people are quick to complain, so I bring balance." (nursing team)

“I came here for a couple of weeks and decided to stay.”

“I am very happy here because it is local and I get plenty of visitors.”

“The staff are unique, they are so caring; just how care staff should be.”

"The staff at Claremont Lodge made my brother in law as comfortable as possible.  He enjoyed his stay there and they cared for him until the vrey end."

"The staff were so kind in my husband's passing.  I was assured that he was not alone when he died and that four of them were with him, which is very comforting for me.

He formed friendships with the staff because of the care and attention he was given during his stay and for that I am eternally grateful."

“Caring for all aspects and needs; nothing is too much trouble. Any request is met with a 'can-do' attitude and usually 'and would you also like us to ----?'. I am always greeted and treated as if I am visiting my Aunt's private home.”

“Since my husband came into this home, we have both been very impressed with the care given. All the staff are efficient, very caring, thoughtful, friendly and provide much laughter! They all really care for their residents. The activities which are arranged every afternoon are great fun and enjoyed by all."

“My mother took the very difficult decision to give up her home a year ago and has not regretted it at all. Every resident is treated as an individual with respect, dignity, kindness and laughter. All the staff do their very best to cater to individual needs, rather than expecting the residents to conform to the home's routine. No request is too small. From a daughter's perspective I know Mum is safe and cared for and I always feel welcomed and involved. There are optional activities every day, birthday teas, coffee mornings, summer fetes, Christmas, Easter and Halloween parties - no excuse for isolation! As my husband's godmother (a resident for many years) used to say "The only thing I have to remember to do here, is breathe!"

“Thank you all once again for the care you gave to my mum.  The care and support she received from everyone from nursing, carers, administrative, kitchen, domestic and maintenance staff was second to none. In these days when you hear such horror stories about care homes, I was so pleased that mum was with you all.”

"We would like to thank all the staff for the exceptional way you looked after our Dad for nearly five years and especially in the last couple of months.  It was a great comfort to all his family to know he could stay in what was his home right to the end.  We know how grateful he was for the great dignity you afforded.  This is just a small token of our appreciation."

"I wish to thank all at the Home for making my stay comfortable and restful for a good recovery, which I am delighted to tell you I now have.  I am walking unaided and out and about in the village on short journeys.  Please convey my thanks to Heather Choat for making my admission arrangements and especially to the chef for taking my gluten free diet so successfully.  I shall know where to come when I need further respite!"

"I would just like to say how much I enjoyed my residence here which was made particularly agreeable by the care and concern shown by every member of staff involved.  I would recommend the home in every way.  I congratulate the owners at the high standards maintained."

"I have been visiting Fornham House for several years and you have some of the most dedicated and nicest staff - we are lucky to live in an area where we can trust people to look after us when we get old!"

"Thank you and all the staff at Fornham House for all you did for Mum, including a wonderful 100th birthday party, she couldn't have been anywhere better."

"I just wanted to say thank you to you and your team for the wonderful care and compassion that Mum was shown throughout her 8 years at Fornham House.  In the early days she used to love her bingo sessions and the reminiscence and music, not forgetting the trips to the garden centres and fish and chips at Felixstowe."

"We are very grateful to all those who looked after him while he was there and would like to thank you all for your kindness and courtesy towards both him and the family.  In that sense we could not have asked for more."

"I wanted to say again how much I and all of her nephews and nieces, spread across the world, in South Africa, Cyprus, North America and Britain appreciated the care and attention you gave her in the 5 plus years she was with you.  Initially for 2 weeks respite care in November 2007 and then permanently in January 2008.  The last 18 months or so at Fornham House were not easy but you managed to treat her with dignity and respect and for that we are all grateful.  With deep admiration for all you do at Fornham House."

"We would like to thank you and all the staff at Fornham House for the care you gave our Mother during her year with you.  We know that Mother wasn't always the easiest person to deal with and often took a lot of coaxing to join in with activities, but were very aware of the kindness and encouragement of all the carers and staff!

"We know that Mother could not have been better looked after, and she often told us how good the staff were to her, and I'm sure her days with you were happpier than had she continued in her own home.  Please pass on our thanks to all your staff and best wishes."

"The home itself seems so clean and tidy - just like a first class hotel!  I thought how your team worked together to make each person feel at home was so impressive - the little touches that make a difference; the tea party with china cups, flower buttonholes and a little gift, the board games, activities and time given with everyone is so noticeable.  Long may you continue to keep up the good work ..."

"Mum was extremely happy and content during her time here, enjoying the company and all the activities she took part in, this was entirely due to all your hard work and effort."

"Thank you all so very much for looking after mum so well.  All the care and love you showed her, gave her two happy and contented years at the home and with her friends at Fornham."

"Thank you for the care you gave my mother during the time she lived at Fornham.  Although the carers were so busy, they always found the time to have a little chat with my mother and her room was always kept clean."

"Thanking you and your staff for the excellent care our father is receiving.  I visit often and Fornham House is always warm and the property clean.  Your staff are very welcoming and helpful."

"I would like to say a big thank you to all the carers and staff.  You were all so very helpful, kind and hardworking.  Mum and I could not have chosen a better care home."

"This is just a note to say thank you for the help and support that was given to my mother, all the staff went out of their way to make my mothers stay a happy one."

"I am writing to thank you for the care and consideration you showed my aunt whilst she was in your care.  I visited your home a number of times and found all of your staff very caring, understanding and always friendly and knowledgeable of her condition.  The home is very well presented and all of your residents seem happy and contented."

"We would like to thank you and your staff for making her time in Fornham House as pleasant and as comfortable as can be due to being bedridden. We cannot express the care that was given to her and us as a family when we visited her."

"To all the staff - I am very sad to have lost my lovely friend. I would like to thank you for all the courtesy and kindness you have shown me when visiting and also for the many cups of tea/coffee over 5/6 years. Best wishes to you all."

"To all the lovely staff at Fornham House - I know that lots of you were very fond of her and I know she was grateful for the way you cared for her.  She was a very special and kind lady and we will all miss her. I want to say thank you to you all."

"To all staff and volunteers...My brothers and I would like to thank all of you at Fornham House for the wonderful care and attention you gave our Mother throughout her 8 years residence.  We particuarly are grateful for the care you gave her towards the end of her life. Our Mother was very happy at Fornham House and did love her relationships with you all. She really appreciated all you did for her. Warmest wishes."

"I write to express my thanks and appreciation for the care that you and your staff gave to Helena for the last two and a half years of her life.

Always a strong-minded person, she found it difficult to have to rely on other people for all the necessities of life. The care, concern and understanding of you and your staff at Foxgrove (and your predecessors) was always apparent to me, even if she did not habitually show her appreciation!

Thanks you very much for arranging refreshments after the funeral. We did justice to the food, even though I over-estimated the numbers who would attend!

Please especially give my regards to Wendy and Tom."

"Thank you so much for all the care and attention you have given Sheila during these past few months."

"We both wish to express our sincere thanks to all the staff at Foxgrove for all the kindness shown to us all."

"I do realise this letter has been sent far too late but the sentiments enclosed are very sincere, nonetheless.

I want to thank you and all the other carers for the way they looked after our friend. I appreciate that Foxgrove was not a nursing home as such, but we are grateful that she was allowed to spend her last days there.

We were also gratified to see the two carers at the funeral and i was particularly pleased about the flowers they brought. John had said no flowers but without any at all, we felt it would have looked very bare.

Please will you pass on thanks to everyone who had anything to do with her care. I know it was not an easy job towards the end?

We send everyone our good wishes, along with our gratitude."

"Garden Fete, 21 July 2012

My Treasurer, has advised me that you have handed to him the proceeds of the above function in the magnificent sum of £1,133.21 for which I enclose our treasurers receipt.

I am writing on behalf of the officers and committee of the Felixstowe Community Hospital League of Friends to thank you sincerely for this substantial and generous donation. We will be sure that it is used wisely to further the provision of patient care in our much valued local hospital.

May I also thank you for allowing us to attend the Fete with our recruitment stand, which led to a useful increase in our membership."

"I should like to take this opportunity to say thank you for caring for my wife for the five months she was staying at Foxgrove during which time she was always treated with kindness and consideration by the staff."

“Many thanks and congratulations to you and your team for all of your hard work to provide the wonderful party for the residents, families and friends on 21st December.   We both had a wonderful time and from chats we had with other visitors they were all amazed at the number of people present. It was obviously a great time effort."

“We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for your loving care. We know that Mother appreciated all you did for her. Although, as we know, giving up one’s home is a last resort you managed to pick up the pieces and made her time with you as pleasant and relaxed as possible. We would like to wish Hillcroft House continued love and success for the future.”

“All of your staff are wonderful, who do a splendid job in often difficult situations. The residents are always nicely dressed with the attention to detail in the wearing of their jewellery to help keep up their self esteem. The house itself is kept immaculately clean, with your cheerful, always pleasant band of cleaners. The food produced in the kitchen with care always looks and smells marvellous, Delia Smith would be proud!”

"I wanted to thank you all for the kindess and care you gave to both my Mum and me after she fell last week.  When we got back from the hospital and the next day when she fell again you all showed such compassion and consideration.  I know you say "it's my job", but I feel that the care went much further than that and the kindess you demonstrated exceeded any 'job responsibilities'."

"It was a lovely jolly party yesterday.  It made for an uplifting afternoon.  These events only come about by team effort and that was clear for all to see."

"I wanted to express my huge thanks and heartfelt appreciation to you and everyone in your team for the wonderful care you delivered to Mum.  From the time that she moved into Hillcroft right up to her last evening I know she was treated with respect, dignity and kindness.  It was the hardest decision the family had to make to place Mum in your care but if we had handpicked each person we could not have chosen better.  I am extremely grateful for being afforded the privilege of being with Mum right to the end and for being treated as part of the Hillcroft family."

"May I take this opportunity to thank you and your staff who have cared so wonderfully for my aunt.  My wife and I, as well as other relations who visited all remarked how patient and caring everybody was that we came into contact with, and would ask you to express our thanks to all of them for the magnificent job that they did.  The media are only too ready to criticise care when something goes wrong, which casts a shadow over the whole sector.  It is therefore especially pleasing to have come across a home and all of the staff who are at the opposite end of the spectrum, providing excellent care for a vulnerable old lady with Alzheimers, and who, latterly, was not in the best of physical health."

"I would like to take this opportunity to express how extremely grateful we are for all the love and care that was shown to him, and us, by the staff at Hillcroft House over the entire span of his residency and, in particular, the final couple of weeks of his life."

"I would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone for looking after my Mum whilst she was in Hillcroft for the last 3 years. You all do a fantastic job and with a smile and kind words at all times. It was very helpful to me to know she was being looked after by such a great bunch of people and that she was happy there."

"I am back in Spain now after a very hectic but successful trip helping with  mums care . Thank you so much for everything that you have done so far , It was quite a difficult time for us as a family but everything has been made as smooth as possible from your  end which we greatly appreciate."

“I would like to express that the care my father received at Home Close was excellent and we have nothing but praise for the dedicated staff and nurses.”

"Thank you for looking after Mum.  Though she was with you a short time, she was happy."

"Mum's 90th year was made all the more comfortable and happy due to the excellent care given by the staff at Home Close.  I thank you for your kindness."

"Thank you for all that you did for Mum.  She was only with you a short time but I felt that she was in safe hands and that you did your very best for her.  I wished that we had transferred her from her last care home a long while ago."

"Many many thanks to all of you for your care, kindness and compassion in looking after my Mother during the last two and a half years.  The warmth of affection you felt for her showed through really strongly and it was a great comfort to me and my family to see her face light up when you came into her room.  Home Close was a real home for her, and for that we will be eternally grateful".

"If I had any family or knew of anyone needing to go into a home, I would have no hesitation in recommending Home Meadow it felt very much like a 'home from home' atmosphere and not run like a business.
It was a pleasure to attend your care home. Please pass our thanks once again to your very dedicated team."

"I wanted to write to you and all the staff at Home Meadow to convey my sincere thanks for all the hard work, love and support that my mum received whilst she was in your care. I could not of asked for more for her. I do want you all to know how very much you have been appreciated and I know that Madge felt the same. She had an amazing abundance of love and I know that she did love you all."

"May I say how I appreciated the good care that Mum received throughout her time in Home Meadow and especially over those last weeks when she needed constant attention.  Please convey my grateful thanks to your team."

"We would like to say thank you to all staff at Home Meadow for taking care of Mum over the past five years.  Thank you to the cooks for managing to make Mum's food look appetising as well as tasting good.  The gardens always looked pretty whatever the season.  Having visited on a regular basis we got to know you and it felt like coming to see friends."

“Hello Joe, I just wanted to say thank you for your time on Wednesday. The opportunity for a one to one with someone so involved with dementia but not a medic was incredibly valuable.  I found the session emotional, as you observed, therapeutic, cathartic and informative.  Thanks for your kind offer for Jan to join some of your sessions, we'll take you up on that. It also helped put some long term planning items in place.

Thanks again and be in touch soon.  Keith Howlett”

"Thank you for taking the time to be so thoughtful...
It really means a lot."

"I had many reservations about Dad going in to care and it was with heavy heart I finally decided last year it was for the best.  I now feel it was 100% the best decision, not only for myself but for Dad too as it allowed us both to enjoy each others company in his final year.  I couldn't have wished for a better place for him in his final year and I'm so glad I got to meet you all there."

"Thank you to you all for caring for her so well and for looking after all her needs through her illness."

"The love compassion and care you have all shown, we know that you do your job because you care, and that to most its more than just a job.
I hope you all feel proud of yourselves, in that you make peoples lives more bearable in such difficult times. Testament to all of your hard work effort and dedication is Rogers last words when he said to us "Tell Meadow House I had a nice time". These words will stay with us forever. We hope these words will stay with you all and give you comfort in knowing what you did made a difference to us all."

"Many thanks! for looking after Stephen so well, he said the care he received was at a professional level at all times and he hopes to see you all soon."

"My father lived here at Meadow House for 8 months and the care was incredible. They became his second family and genuinely cared for him as a person not a patient. They would often give up their own free time to come sit with him doing crosswords, listening to music or just watching TV so he wasn't alone. They came up with so many fantastic ideas to make his life as comfortable as possible. Their care extended to friends and family too as they always made time to talk if needed. When my father first arrived at Meadow House he was frightened and unsure about what would happen but he quickly relaxed and felt in his words "safe and at home" which was not only important to him but to us as family and friends as we were so reassured that he was happy and cared for amazingly well. The carers would go out of their way to make sure he did everything he wanted to do be it just sitting out in the sun or driving to the beach for a few hours, no request was to much. I could not recommend Meadow House enough, words could never begin to explain how grateful I am for everything they did and continue to do for every person there."

“Thank you to you and all your staff for their kindness, help and consideration that you have all given to my Mother.  Mother spent many weeks in and out of hospital, where she never got the correct nursing for Dementia, her general well-being was poor and she had given up on life.   Being in a very poor and sorry state, very confused and totally given up, but the worst thing was that she did not recognise me.   Now she is very happy in herself and her environment – but best of all, she can recognise me and knows my name. You will never know how much this means to me.  There is such a great improvement all round in her and her well-being, I had to write to say thank you.”

"Just a few lines to thank you all for the wonderful care and attention you gave my Uncle for the 15 months he spent with you.  We will never be able to thank you all enough and all the family more than appreciates how you cared for him.  We can never speak highly enough of the Home and its wonderful staff."

"I was truly impressed by the lovely atmosphere you have, with lots of interests and activities for the residents."

"I am writing to you on behalf of my family, to say a very sincere 'thank you' for the care Mill Lane Nursing Home, Felixstowe, gave to my mother - we could not have wished for anything more!"

“The staff gives 110% to the resident’s needs; they are very good and always polite.”

"Mother spoke in the highest terms of the quality of care she received in the short time she was with you, and I am in no doubt that a longer stay would have been beneficial to her physical and mental wellbeing."

"Once again, many thanks for all your help and support - for assessing mother so promptly, for making her room so nice with fresh flowers, for looking after her well and treating her with respect. I am very sorry that things have turned out like this, and I hope that, despite what has happened, you would consider having her back in Oaklands at some future date, should she wish to return to you."

"Thank you so much to you all for making my birthday such a happy occasion.
The past months have passed so quickly and so happily and I cannot believe that it is now a year since I joined you all at Oaklands! The loving care I have received from the outset has been a source of real joy to both my family and I and I am very grateful."

"Please may I thank you for the wonderful day you and the staff gave us. It really was a great success - everything went as you would have hoped, I am sure. The 'girls' and 'boys' worked so hard - I couldn't believe that by 6 o'clock everything was back to normal. The friends of Oaklands also did a very good job too - we are so lucky to be in such a happy house, where everyone seems to care. Please give my thanks to everyone - and thank you Jenny for making it all possible."

"Thanks you all for an excellent lunch and afternoon. Everyone had entered into the spirit and worked very hard to make the event so successful.
Thank you again."

"Many thanks for the jubilee lunch and fete which you put on for us last Saturday. It was a very memorable and enjoyable day."

“I came here 4 years ago after my wife died, I had a nasty infection which wouldn’t clear up and I was depressed, the lovely staff here got me well again.”

“Activities are so important, it was one of the reasons we chose Olive House.  The staff make every effort to keep up a high standard.”

"We would like to thank all the staff at Olive House.  When you leave someone in a home it is a comfort to know they are being looked after properly.  We also thought the younger staff were very caring and good."

“I came here for a short holiday and decided I couldn’t find anywhere better.”

“Staff have a good understanding of dementia and do their best to understand the person as a whole.”

“The staff are really amazing, very kind, supportive and cheerful.”

"I just wanted to express my thanks to you and your team for the kindness that you showed my parents for the duration of my Mum's stay at Overbury House.  We all found your staff to be very kind and gentle with Mum and my Dad.  I think you should be proud of your staff."

"I wish to say thank you for the amazing treatment that he receives.  He has been a resident at Overbury House for 5 1/2 years and has always been treated with such kindness, care and respect.  Over the years the staff have been amazing.  Your staff are the most remarkable that anyone could wish to have taking care of their loved ones."

"Mum was always telling me how well you all looked after her and she saw you as her friends.  A lot has happened in the year Mum was with you, a very emotional rollercoaster of a ride.  I would just like to say, you and all your staff have been amazing, so caring, supportive and considerate to us all.  I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has looked after Mum.  I couldn't have picked a better care home for Mum to spend her last year."

"We appreciated the respect and dignity that you showed.  He is now at peace and you helped make his last weeks, days and hours peaceful.  Once again, many thanks."

"I am writing to express my gratitude for the help which you extended to Adult Social Care when we were required to move residents from St Nicholas Care Home before the Christmas period.

Your willingness to help in this difficult situation was made significantly easier and everyone was settled in their new accommodation in time for Christmas."

“Mother was nursed with infinite care and dignity. Because of the skill and dedication of the staff, it was not necessary to transfer her to hospital, a move which might otherwise have been unavoidable. My mother’s minister visited on several occasions and she commented that she had never seen such an extraordinary level of care being shown, as she saw, plainly, in operation at Shipdham Manor.”

"I am writing to convey my heartfelt thanks to you, and all the staff at Shipdham Manor for the wonderful care given to my Mum while she was a resident.  You have a lovely, kind and caring establishment which all care homes should aspire to.  You are simply the best."

"As you know, I am grateful to you and to your wonderful staff every day of the week but since my recent 'bump', my peace of mind has needed and received even more nurturing.  I don't know how I would cope if I had to worry about his welfare as well as having to overcome my own current obstacles.  It is so reassuring to know that he is in the very best place, receiving such professional yet loving care and attention.  My ongoing thanks and appreciation for all that you and your staff do for us."

“Not sure where to begin to say the biggest thank you for all the wonderful care and attention that you have bestowed on our Mum and more recently Dad.  He always felt amazingly well looked after, well fed and extremely well cared for. And had it not been for all of you he would have not reached the ripe old age of 98.”

“I too have always felt so wonderfully looked after as soon as I stepped through the front door – thank you. You made living so far away so much easier than it otherwise would have been.”

"Thank you for taking care of my Mum over the last two weeks. Enjoy the cake."

"A big thank you for your loving care and support. Win was very happy and restful in your hands.
We are very grateful that your attention and kindness made her short stay a peaceful experience.

"We would like to thank you for all the care you have given to both Mum and ourselves during Mum's stay with you. It was short but mostly sweet! You all showed her such affection, (even if she couldn't remember who you were) it made her feel very special. She used to tell us how kind you all were to her. We appreciate the kind consideration that was given to us on the day Mum passed away, this meant a great deal to us."

"This is a very sad time for us but we can smile at the memories Mum has left with us. She was so special."

"Mother was a rather reluctant resident to begin with but she was encouraged to take part in activities and every effort was made to that end.

As mother’s condition deteriorated and she became bed-ridden the carers were meticulous in keeping her comfortable. She was encouraged to eat and drink and was always clean and tidy and her bed nicely made.

Mother gradually slipped peacefully away, her dignity being maintained throughout. The carers were extremely respectful to her and most kind, sympathetic and helpful to the family present at the time.

I must make mention of The Hillings Jubilee Street party. The staff worked tremendously hard to make this a memorable occasion and myself and several other family members were able to take mum out and watch her joining in the old songs and tucking into the food. This was Mum’s last event and the family have happy memories and precious photos of her there.

We feel that the care mother received was of the highest order and the dedication of all staff concerned outstanding and we are extremely thankful that mother spent her remaining time in such clean and friendly surroundings."

"We both felt compelled to write to thank you and your staff for the wonderful care and attention shown to our late Mother, especially during her final weeks.  We both appreciate that Mum was not always the most co-operative of residents and at times her behaviour tested the patience and resolve of the Hillings community. However it was very comforting to know that her final days were spent in a very caring and supportive environment and we both thank you again for the level of attention to detail to ensure that Mum's passing was as dignified as possible."

"I would like to thank you most sincerely for the way my Mother was cared for at The Hillings in the final months of her life.  She did not take to change very easily but once settled we knew she was in the right place and very happy.  The caring and professional attitude of you and all your staff was always in evidence and I know you did your very best for her at all times."

"Thank you to everyone at The Hillings for looking after my Dad.  He was very happy at The Hillings and we know he was well looked after.  Thank you for your help and support at this difficult time."

"I would like to express our appreciation of the quality of care you all provided to Mum during her stay with you."

"Thank you all for taking care of Mum - enjoy the sweets!"

"We would like to express our sincere thanks for your constant care and kindness given to our Mother at all times.  Mum's time at The Hillings was made as pleasant as possible, the surroundings bright and cheerful and always warm and cosy.  We have always felt welcome when visiting Mum."

"A special thank you to all the carers in the dementia unit. Our thanks once again to you all."

"My thanks to you all once again for your care of him especially the night staff, most of whom I never had the chance to thank in person.  All of you do a wonderful job.  My love to you all for helping to make the last three years bearable for me."

"Just a short note of thanks from us all for all you did for our Dad in the short time he was with you.  We will be forever grateful for you taking him in at such short notice- you were a lifesaver - and your caring support for Dad impressed us all.  We know he came quickly to appreciate the help and care, and it made his last weeks much more bearable.  We are glad you all got to see his dry sense of humour and determined character."

"My husband and I would like to thank you sincerely for all that you did to make her last years as comfortable as possible.  And it was so kind that two of you were able to attend the funeral yesterday.  It was a simple and sincere service - I think she would have approved.  We both appreciate that we were made to feel so welcome when we visited - especially a cup of coffee after a long journey!  Thank you."

"To all the staff - The family and myself would like to thank you for all the care you gave him.  He was very happy with you all.  I don't think he could have had much better treatment anywhere else.  The family was very satisfied with what you all did to help him.  I shall miss you all so much."

"We would like to thank you all for caring for Mum so well, especially in the last weeks.  We can't tell you what a difference it made to us all, knowing she was being so well looked after.  She came to think of The Hillings as home in the comparatively short time she was living with you."

"My purpose in writing is to express our gratitude for the care and kindness shown to my mother-in-law, in the almost 3 years that she lived at The Hillings.  On many occasions during that time, Mum said how fortunate she was to have found this place and how kind people were to her.  She settled well and was very content."

"On behalf of all the family, we would like to say thank you for all the care that you have given over the last 7 years.  You have all been very caring and supportive."

"We would like to thank you all for the care you gave our dad whilst he lived at The Hillings.  You all cared about him as much as we did and the extra care you gave him in his last few days was excellent.  Thank you also for the care and support you gave to us as a family, you cared for us as much as Dad."

"I just wanted to say how grateful I am for the way my mum has been looked after at The Hillings over the last seven and a half years.  Mum was really happy to be living at The Hillings and it is a comfort to know that she was looked after by cheerful and dedicated staff."

"Many thanks for all the care and kindness you gave to my mother and to me during an extremely stressful time.  Mum and Dad are now back together and have settled well."

"Thank you for showing my husband, brother and myself around the Hillings last Tuesday.  We were most impressed with the atmosphere - it seems to be a friendly and caring place, where my mother would feel at home and where we as a family would feel welcome."

"May I take this opportunity to say thank you so very much for caring for my Mother over the last few years to all who contributed to her stay at The Hillings."

"Thank you for the wonderful day you arranged for us on our 70th Wedding Anniversary."

"We would like to thank those of you who looked after Dad during his stay with you.  The Hillings is a lovely home and Dad always said how happy he was with you. The support and care he received from you, especially when he became ill and needed more attention, was second to none. Thank you for everything you did for Dad, it was much appreciated."

"Many thanks for your card and kind words following the recent passing away of my Mother.  Many thanks for all your care, help and companionship given to my Mum during her stay with you."

"Thank you for looking after Mum and caring for her.  She loved living there as she had people around her all the while.  She did not like being alone so The Hillings was an ideal home for her. Thank you for your card and we hope you have some happy memories of her as we do. Best wishes to all the staff and residents."

"We would like to thank you so much for the care and attention you gave to our brother/Uncle.  If only he'd come to you earlier, he would have enjoyed his stay at The Hillings.  We can't thank you enough and will be forever grateful."

"I would just like to say an enormous thank you on behalf of myself and family for looking after her so well for her 3 years with you. I always felt she was in good hands and being well cared for, despite what her dementia would say otherwise!  You all showed such patience with her and unfailing good humour.  Please pass on our thanks to everyone."

"Thank you for a great Valentines lunch and for all the effort you put in to it. It really was appreciated."

"We wish to say a big thank you for the Valentines dinner you arranged yesterday.  He knew nothing about it but has not stopped talking about it. These are extra special occasions you put on, and believe me, they mean so much. Our love and grateful thanks to you."

"A huge thank you for arranging the dog show. We thought it was absolutely excellent - best event at The Hillings so far.  God bless you."

"I wanted to thank The Hillings for the care they gave Mum throughout her two and a half years residence.  We have sent a card and thank you to the staff directly involved with her care but I wanted to give you a formal thank you.

For someone who was very independent, you made Mum be as much in control as possible. You enabled her to maintain dignity and self determination throughout her time with you.

As someone who worked at a senior level in social care for many years, I am aware of the pressure both financial and practical in providing high quality care.

The Hillings managed to deliver excellent care throughout an 'end of life' care plan which allowed Mum a very peaceful end." (Sept 2016)

‘A huge credit to all of your staff who always greet us with a smile and a warm welcome.  It gives me great comfort to know my Mother is in safe hands’

“ I am so lucky to be looked after so well”

“I am so pleased that being at the Manor House has helped me so much to cope with the death of my husband following 68 years of marriage”

“I never feel alone at The Manor House, the staff are always so kind, I think the world of them all”.

“I looked at 11 homes; they were all unsuitable and then I found The Manor House!”

"My great Grandparents moved into The Manor House in 2009 first of all for respite but they grew to like it.  They both had their own rooms and they could spend their last moments in such a wonderful place.  They were given lots of choice and were treated with respect.  Sadly, they passed away in early 2010.  The care after their death to our family was brilliant".

“Many thanks for all your kindness in looking after Mum.  It is much appreciated by myself and all the family.”

“Thanks for all your consideration, night and day staff, and for all the extra things that you do that makes my stay here a happy one.”

“Just a little note to say thank you for the care you gave to Mum. You all do a brilliant job.”

“Thank you for making the last few years less stressful and happy.”

“Would you please convey my grateful thanks to all the Staff at the White House. As relatives, we were made to feel so welcome.”

“We are so grateful for the care and support you gave to our Mother while she was at The White House.. in helping her steer her way through her challenges; for being companions on the ride; for helping her make her own splash of colour.”

“It is greatly to the credit of the White House and its staff that my mother quickly and readily accepted living “in a home” and to appreciate the care she received and the companionship of other residents. It helped, of course, that my sister and myself were able to visit no matter what the day or time.”

"My sincere and grateful thanks for all you did for our Mum over the past seven years.  We could not have chosen a better place for Mum.  Her disabilities were never going to make it an easy passage but with the care that she received at The White House, it made it easier for us to cope with.  Furthermore, to have support from staff at her funeral was more than we could have hoped for - above and beyond our expectations."

"Thank you for caring for my Aunt in her last years of life.  Also, thank you to those that attended her funeral, it was very kind and much appreciated."

"Thank you for your kindness during our Mother's stay with you. Your sympathy during her illness and death is appreciated by us all."

"My most grateful thanks to you all for your kind attention over the past six months."

"Thank you all so much for the care you gave to my Dad.  You made his final years as comfortable and stimulating as possible.  The White House is truly a 'care home' in the best possible way."

"I am writing to thank you for taking me on for work experience at The White House during March 2014.  Please pass on my thanks to all of the staff for helping me gain more knowledge and understanding in to care as a career.  Also, for making me feel welcome throughout my time there."

"To all the staff at The White House - many thanks for all your hard work.  You have done a wonderful job."

"I would like to say thank you all very much for looking after my Mum over the last 19 months.  I always felt she was well looked after and had every confidence in the care she was getting."

"To all the staff at The White House - thanks for all the care given to Joyce during her stay with you."

"I am writing to let you know what a professional Chef you have.  With a variety of fresh, wholesome and nourishing meals and with the table cloth, cutlery and all condiments and accompaniments exquisitely presented. We also feel that the staff at The White House should get a mention, as we have no complaints whatsoever and the standard of care is exceptional.  My Mum was in two terrible care homes before residing at The White House, so we have the experience to judge."

"A belated thank you for the way you looked after her. We felt you were all very kind to her so thank you once again."

"I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to all your staff at The White House for the care and help they showed my Mother during her last few weeks.  From management to the cleaners all played an important part and in particular the carers were wonderful.  Thank you."

"To all at The White House, thank you so much for the care you gave our dear Uncle."

"We would like to express our sincere thanks for the care you gave to him during his long stay with you.  There are so many complaints these days about the treatment given to patients in care that we find it hard to believe, especially after the treatment he received right until his sad end.  Many thanks for your representation at his funeral, it was much appreciated.  May we take this opportunity to wish you all a Happy Christmas (a little early) and would like to say that we would have no hesitation in recommending The White House to anyone as we already have!"

"Thank you for Mum's new curtains and for looking after her so well when she was poorly last month."

"Many thanks to everyone who cared for Mum and Dad at The White House. Best wishes for the future."

"Thank you for all the care and kindness you have shown to my Mum during the six years she was in your care.  While she was receiving palliative care since November you have shown every possible attention to ease her last months.  I hope the care home continues to make residents content and happy as Mum was.  Thank you as well for showing kindness to me."

“My mother has been at Uvedale for 4 years and I have found the care and attention she has had to be exceptional. I always enjoy my visits as I am made to feel welcome. The staff are carefully chosen. I think they seem happy in their work and we get to know them well as many of them have been at the home a long time.”

“We looked at 12 homes for my elderly mother and settled on Uvedale Hall. The reasons were - the place feels like home not 'a home', the friendliness of the staff, compact size, no long corridors to struggle along, management's positive caring attitude, involvement of relatives when possible, lovely location and garden, excellent food and again the staff!”

“Very caring staff. Home cooked food. Lovely building in beautiful garden surroundings.”

“Uvedale is first and foremost the resident’s home. The staff are extremely professional, high quality, respectful, very caring and fun. Residents are encouraged to maintain their independence but help is always there when it is needed. Uvedale has a busy and varied social programme with something available every day. Excellent home cooked meals and the opportunity for family and friends to come to lunch is typical of the friendly atmosphere. There are beautiful gardens to explore or sit and enjoy in the sunny weather and a lovely lakeside walk close by.”

“Homely, caring, happy atmosphere. Always sound of residents and staff chatting. The understanding staff are well trained and when my father had an emergency admission to hospital staff stayed outside their working hours to help him. Regular outings and activities. Good, fresh home cooked meals. Near town centre and easy wheelchair access to a pretty lakeside walk for sunny afternoons.”

"Further to our conversation on Friday, I wanted to extend my thanks and appreciation to yourself and all staff at Uvedale.  Being this far away (Canada) and not being able to see her very often it has been a great comfort to me to know that she has been so well cared for during her 71/2 years there.

I am so impressed with the compassion and genuine caring that all the staff have demonstrated over that time.  I really can't overstate what a wonderful and cheerful team of individuals you all are.

Thank you all so much for the wonderful work you do and I will make a point to drop by whenever I am over next."

"Both of us want to thank Amanda and all of her really lovely staff for their professional, kind and very caring nursing and help they gave him over the three weeks he stayed here at Uvedale Hall.  You are a really wonderful team. (The tea and cake was so yummy). Our love to you all."

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the very kind and happy stay in Uvedale Hall that my husband had.  It was so comfortable, home from home, and all the staff were caring and nothing was too much trouble."

"I have been very pleased with the care he has had at Uvedale Hall and thank all members of staff for the care and attention you have given him and if it wasn't for the recent problems he would still be there. I know that he has been very happy there.  Excellent food, lovely surroundings and great staff who always made him smile."
