The next ‘Dementia Awareness Community Support Group’ meeting will be taking place at Home Meadow residential home in Toft on Wednesday 26th April at 2pm. The team is inviting people who care for a loved one with dementia to come along to find out more about the support that is available across the county.
The group meets on the last Wednesday of every month to provide support to those in rural Cambridgeshire who are carers for a family member or friend with dementia.
Joe Ballard, Activities Coordinator at Home Meadow and originator of the Dementia Awareness group said: “Often, those caring for dementia sufferers are unsure of where to turn to for help and so our community support group provides guidance and a friendly place to visit so carers and family members don’t feel alone or isolated. We meet every month to discuss issues, as well as share experiences and encourage as many carers from the area to join us.”
