The Malthouse Care Home in Gillingham, Dorset celebrated Easter this year with several activities, including an Easter cupcake baking activity. The event was part of the varied social, activities and events program organised by the Activities Team at the care home.
Each resident was invited to join in and bake some cupcakes. Once baked, the residents were then asked to decorate each cupcake to an Easter theme.
As you can see from the pictures below, some residents chose mini eggs and chocolate flakes to simulate eggs in cupcake nests. Others chose to decorate their cupcakes with marshmallows.
Claire Stredwick, Manager at The Malthouse confirmed “All the residents enjoyed getting together for this activity, not only to celebrate Easter, but also to have fun baking and decorating their cakes. Afterwards the residents particularly enjoyed eating the fruits of their labour with a good old-fashioned cup of tea and a chat. All in all it was a very enjoyable afternoon.”
