Next ‘Walk to Remember’ announced

29th May 2017

Home Meadow Residential Care Home in Toft, Cambridgeshire hosts fortnightly ‘Walk to Remember’ events that are designed to support residents and members of the local community that live with dementia. The next walk is on 9th June at 11am.

The walks are designed not only to support residents from Home Meadow but those in the local Cambridgeshire community who are living with dementia, whether you have been diagnosed yourself or are a caring for someone who has dementia.

Each walk begins at Toft’s People’s Hall at 11am. The gentle mile-long circuit takes in the village sights and provides an opportunity for people living with dementia to get active and meet new people.

Carers, friends, family members and local people are invited to join the walks, allowing all of those involved in supporting residents the chance to enjoy time together within the community.

Activities such as these enable people living with dementia to socialise with new people and provide a chance for those providing care to talk with others sharing the same experience.

Everyone is welcome and the team at the home very much look forward to meeting up with some familiar faces as well as seeing new people on the Walk to Remember events.
