Deb Wiltshire, Manager of The Hillings said: “The Dementia Friends initiative is a great way of raising community awareness of dementia and helping people understand the condition. Among other things, attendees will learn about not just the bigger picture, but also the small actions that go a long way in helping people who live with dementia and the challenges it presents.
“We are holding three free events for anyone in the area who is interested in coming along and becoming a worth ‘Dementia Friend’.”
The events will be take place at The Hillings Care Home in Grenville Way, Eaton Socon, St Neots, Cambridgeshire, PE19 8HZ, on the following dates:
• Tuesday 6th March – 10am-11am
• Tuesday 10th April – 2pm-3pm
• Wednesday 9th May – 10.30am-11.30am
Deb Wiltshire adds : “I would encourage anyone who is interested to come along: residents’ family members and friends, neighbours, local business representatives: anyone who has an interest in learning more about how to support people living with dementia and their loved ones in and around the community.
