Meadow House turns Swaffham blue and raises £645 for MS charity

3rd May 2018

Meadow House Nursing Home in Swaffham, held a special themed week of activities to raise awareness of multiple sclerosis (MS) and has raised over £645 as a result for the MS Trust.

The national MS Awareness Week commenced on Monday 23rd April with its traditional ‘be bold in blue’ theme and the Meadow House team supported this by hosting a range of events and activities to spread the word about the condition and to raise funds for much needed research.

Activities included a fun run through Swaffham town centre, which saw staff and residents dressed in crazy wigs and blue costumes.  They encouraged members of the public to join them and spoke to them about their work, in an effort to raise funds and awareness.

In addition, all week, a raffle was held alongside a ‘blue bingo’, as well as a coffee morning.

Activities Coordinator Belinda Jones said: “The week of activity is just a small part of the regular work Meadow House carries out to support the charity MS Trust and to help people living with the condition.

“Staff and residents at the home were excited to take part in the week of planned activities and we are all proud to have raised over £600 for a charity that is close to our hearts. We would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who donated and took the time to join us in our various pursuits.  We had a ball – and all for such a great cause.”
