The Hillings celebrate Exercise and Nutrition

As part of Nutrition and Hydration Week, the care team at The Hillings in Eaton Socon have been keen to demonstrate the importance and health benefits of exercise, combined with a healthy, nutritiously balanced diet.

Consequently, the residents at The Hillings have been trying out some new specially prepared drinks and snacks, and giving their feedback.

With active encouragement towards a healthy, nutritious lifestyle, residents regularly take part in exercise programs and the catering team go to great lengths to ensure residents are served enjoyable nutritionally-balanced meals and snacks.

Lauren from the catering team made some very healthy fresh fruit dips for the residents to test out; made with bananas, mangos, strawberries and apples, the residents got to dip more fresh fruit, or some plain biscuits, into the dipping bowls.

Tracey Morris, deputy manager said “The dips, along with some delicious smoothies, were a huge success; the residents all agreed they were delicious and would definitely enjoy them as a regular option on the food menus.

“They were enjoyed as a great post-exercise club refreshment which, with its upbeat music and variety of movement and stretching, always invigorates the residents.

“We take exercise and nutrition very seriously here at The Hillings because we recognise the benefits they both bring.”
