A touch of ‘the Med’ comes to The Hillings

Activities Coordinators at The Hillings care home in Eaton Socon, Cambridgeshire, have hosted a special Mediterranean-inspired food tasting event for the residents of the home.

On offer for the residents to try out were some simple delights of Mediterranean cuisine. These included olives, feta cheese, anchovies, pitta bread, and houmous; a real ‘mezze’ of delights.

Tracey Morris, deputy manager of The Hillings said: “For many of the residents it was their first time trying such food that perhaps many of us may take for granted as it has become more readily available nowadays.

“It was interesting to see the residents’ response. They wanted to try everything. Whilst the anchovies received a mixed reception, much of the other food was thoroughly enjoyed and went down a storm! Taste buds were certainly tingling.”
