Healthcare Homes acquires two Norfolk nursing homes10th March 2020
Healthcare Homes Group has today announced the completion of the purchase of Saxlingham Hall Nursing Home based in Saxlingham Nethergate, south of Norwich and Walcot Hall Nursing Home in Walcot Green, near Diss.
This increases the Group’s portfolio of quality residential and nursing homes to 39 across the East and South of England.
The group has acquired the homes from Saxlingham Hall Nursing Home Limited, which was founded by Alan and Jane Bird. Mr Bird has owned Saxlingham Hall Nursing Home since 1980 – only the second owner of the Hall since it became a nursing home in the 1950s – and in August 2005 he acquired Walcot Hall Nursing Home in Diss.
Situated in beautiful grounds on the outskirts the village of Saxlingham Nethergate, Saxlingham Hall is a former manor house, which has been sympathetically extended and modernised to provide quality long term care and respite services for up to 36 people living with a range of needs.
Walcot Hall was originally built in the 18th Century and today provides respite and long term care for up to for up to 42 people, in modern, comfortable accommodation. The home is set in three acres of ground with a small lake and expansive lawns. Rated as ‘good’ by the CQC, the home is well connected to the local Diss community.

The purchase completed on Tuesday 10th March 2020 for an undisclosed sum. Birkett Long advised Healthcare Homes Group on the deal and Christie & Co acted for the outgoing vendor, while valuations and property surveys were carried out by Cushman & Wakefield.Back
