Award Winning Heroes

23rd March 2021

Congratulations to Cedar Court in Witney which has won a Covid-19 ‘Witney Hero’ award from the local town council. The awards were launched at the start of the year to help recognise individuals, businesses and organisations in the town who responded to the pandemic ‘with dedication and hard work in the community’.

The citation for the Cedar Court team was ‘for working very hard looking after residents, being like family to them and providing much needed comfort when they missed their families. Staff also had to endure lots of Covid tests and work 12-hour shifts in full PPE’.

Cedar Court has received a special Covid-19 Hero certificate, signed by Witney’s Mayor, Cllr Joy Altman, and a sticker which it will proudly display. It will also appear on the Town Council’s online roll of honour.

Manager, Gener Tayhopon, said: “For many of us, just doing the job and keeping our residents safe and well is reward enough but it is always nice and great for our self-esteem and confidence to be recognised in this way.”

Helen Gidlow, Chief Operating Officer at Healthcare Homes added: “ This is both kind and well deserved recognition from the local community for the fabulous team in Witney. Their efforts are reflected all across Healthcare Homes Group and we are enormously proud of the teams in every one of our care homes and branches for their exceptional commitment and hard work during extraordinarily difficult times.”
