Sam heads the teams at Saxlingham Hall and Walcot Hall in Norfolk

Healthcare Homes is delighted to announce that experienced care home manager Sam Kirwan is to lead the teams at both Saxlingham Hall and Walcot Hall in Norfolk.

Sam, who has most recently been manager for another Healthcare Home, Sovereign Lodge in Eastbourne, has experience working with both older people and those with learning disabilities. She previously worked for Surrey local authority supporting care homes and managers as well as home manager for another care home group.

Developing her teams at Walcot Hall and Saxlingham Hall and building up links with the local communities in the villages around the homes are Sam’s priorities.

Sam, who likes to be out in the homes with staff and residents whenever possible so that people can easily talk to her, said, “I really appreciate and value the teams of staff we have working at Saxlingham and Walcot. For a manager having a good team is the most important thing and I hope to be able to encourage and motivate my teams to be the best they can be, which in turn means we will be providing the best possible care and support to our residents, their relatives and families.”

When not at work Sam enjoys travelling with her partner, often in their campervan, sea swimming and reading – the best way to switch off is with a good crime novel from the likes of James Patterson and David Baldacci, she says.

Saxlingham Hall Nursing Home is in the village of Saxlingham Nethergate in Norfolk. The home is rated Good by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)  and has a 9.8 out of 10 score on independent review website

Sister home Walcot Hall in Walcot Green, near Diss, is also rated Good overall by the CQC and has a 9.5 out of 10 score on

Both homes are part of the Healthcare Homes family of 48 care homes and 11 homecare branches across the south and east of the UK.
