A big part of what we stand for is to keep our homes and residents at the heart of the local communities in which they live. This is done by working closely with community groups, schools, colleges, libraries and other community connections to keep residents involved in local activities, and to safely bring the friends and neighbours into our homes.
For example, many homes have previously held Friendship Lunches and have extended a warm welcome to local people who may be living on their own to come and share a lunch with residents and join in the arranged activities.
Other homes are actively involved with parish council or village committees and host community-based events and fetes, or work closely with schools or colleges on joint projects.
We believe it is important that residents continue to feel a part of their local communities by connecting with people of all generations and walks of life, in varied activities and initiatives.
