Dementia care
Dementia care
Dementia can affect a person’s memory, ability to think, the way they act and their ability to perform everyday activities, and it can be tough to see a loved one change before your eyes.
Many of our homes have the dementia friendly environments and expertise to care for your loved one in a secure and safe environment. And many of our teams across our care homes, home care and live-in care services are fully trained to help them live a fulfilling and stimulating life in spite of the condition.
- Dementia trained staff - many of our staff are recognised dementia friends, meaning they have enhanced knowledge and understanding of the condition and work to raise awareness and support
- Dementia-friendly environments in our care homes - including secure dementia wings, sensory rooms and gardens, and memory boxes to help residents recognise their rooms
- Reminiscence activities - including activity rooms with vintage décor in some of our care homes and reminiscence newspapers to stimulate memories and conversations
