129 years of service celebrated at Ladymead Care Home

Eight colleagues at Ladymead care home in Wroughton are celebrating an incredible 129 years of service between them.

Each has worked at the home for at least 10 years, with the longest-serving member of the group having been part of Ladymead for 23 years.

Deputy Manager Jocelyn has been part of the Ladymead team for 23 years, while Home Manager Byju Vasudevan has worked at the home for 21 years.

They are joined by Admin colleague Maggy and Housekeeper Dacia, who have both reached 17 years at Ladymead.

Registered General Nurse George and Domestic team member Olga have each been at the home for 15 years, while Cook and Kitchen Assistant Cithadel has reached 11 years.

Care Assistant Zinia has now marked 10 years at Ladymead.

Together, the eight colleagues have clocked up 129 years at the home.

Familiar faces

Having so many colleagues stay at Ladymead for so long means residents and their families see plenty of familiar faces around the home.

Many of the colleagues have also worked alongside each other for years. Over that time, they have got to know the residents, their families and each other well.

That familiarity is an important part of everyday life at Ladymead. Staff take the time to get to know each resident as an individual, including their routines, interests and the things that matter to them.

Ladymead provides residential, nursing and dementia care, as well as respite and palliative care. Set in the village of Wroughton, the home has comfortable communal areas, accessible gardens and en-suite bedrooms.

While the home has changed over the years, these eight colleagues have continued to be a familiar part of life at Ladymead.

Between them, Jocelyn, Byju, Maggy, Dacia, George, Olga, Cithadel and Zinia have given 129 years to the home and the people who live there.
