Residents at Bedhampton Court have raised £257 for the Hayling Donkey Sanctuary following a successful summer fete at the Havant care home.
Bedhampton Court’s summer fete brought residents, relatives and staff together for a bray-liant afternoon of food, games and fundraising.
The money raised will support the Hayling Donkey Sanctuary and its work caring for donkeys on Hayling Island.
The event was a chance for residents to enjoy time with their families and friends while getting involved in the activities. Staff also helped to organise the afternoon and make sure there was plenty for everyone to enjoy.
The fundraising did not stop at the fete.
Residents later visited the sanctuary to see some of the donkeys they had helped support.

During the visit, residents were able to spend time with the animals, including one resident who enjoyed stroking a donkey.
A spokesperson for Bedhampton Court, part of Healthcare Homes said: “We were delighted with how our summer fete went. It was lovely to see residents, relatives and staff all getting involved.
“Raising £257 for the Hayling Donkey Sanctuary was a great way to round off the event. It is a fantastic local cause and we are pleased that the money raised will help support the donkeys.”
The Hayling Donkey Sanctuary provides a safe home for donkeys and cares for animals that need ongoing support.

Life at Bedhampton Court
Bedhampton Court is a 47-bedroom care home on Hulbert Road in Havant. It provides residential, nursing, respite, dementia and palliative care.
The home has landscaped gardens and a range of communal spaces, including lounges, a large conservatory and a courtyard garden.
The team also organises regular activities and outings, giving residents opportunities to spend time with others and stay connected with the local community.
The summer fete was a simple way to bring people together while raising money for a cause that residents could continue to connect with when they visited the sanctuary.
