Blandford Grange couple celebrates 71 years of marriage

Janet, a resident at Blandford Grange care home, and her husband Norman have celebrated an extraordinary milestone: 71 years of marriage. Norman marked the occasion by visiting Janet for a private lunch and a specially made cake.

Their love story began in 1951. Janet, a dance teacher, met Norman, a photographer, at a local pantomime. Soon after, Norman was called up for National Service. Despite the distance, they kept their romance alive with letters, Valentine’s cards, and weekly visits. In 1954, they married and started a life full of devotion and shared memories.
