Celebrating commitment

Evelyn Websdale, the heart and soul of the kitchen, has not only recently turned 80 years old but has also marked 50 incredible years of dedicated service at Bilney Hall.

Evelyn’s journey with Bilney Hall is a testament to her unwavering commitment and passion for her work. She began her career at the nursing home half a century ago and has since become an indispensable part of the team, known for her warm presence and delicious meals. Evelyn’s dedication is a family affair, as she currently works alongside her daughter-in-law and granddaughter.

Recognition for outstanding service

In recognition of her outstanding service, Company CEO Gordon Cochrane and COO Helen Gidlow personally visited Bilney Hall to present Evelyn with her long service award. The presentation was a heartfelt moment, highlighting Evelyn’s incredible contributions over the years. “Evelyn’s commitment to Bilney Hall is nothing short of inspirational,” said CEO Gordon Cochrane. “Her dedication and passion have positively impacted the lives of both residents and staff. We are truly grateful for her years of service.”

Evelyn’s daily routine is as inspiring as her career as she cycles to work every day. In recognition of this, family members gifted her an electric bike for her 80th birthday to give her an extra boost on her way to the home.

A time to reflect

Reflecting on her time at the home, Evelyn shared, “I’ve seen so many changes over the years, from the way we cook to how we care for our residents. It’s been an
incredible journey, and I feel blessed to be part of such a wonderful team.”

While Evelyn has no intention of retiring anytime soon, she has mentioned the possibility of reducing her hours slightly. Her presence and expertise will continue to be a cherished part of Bilney Hall, and the team looks forward to many more years of her guidance and friendship.
