Winifred Fairweather has just celebrated her 100th birthday and says she owes her long life to remaining happy and smiling every day.
Winnie has been a resident at Aldringham Court in Aldringham, Suffolk, since the beginning of the year where she loves the varied activities, enjoys going out on day trips to the seaside and always joins in with a singalong.
Local girl Winnie grew up in the nearby village of Westleton where she lived and worked in various jobs including as a factory worker and a cleaner. Winnie has two children, six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great, great, grandchildren.
Home Manager Rebecca Watkins said, “We love to celebrate birthdays with our residents and Winnie was joined by family and friends at Aldringham Court for her birthday for a lovely get together and celebration on reaching 100.
“We had balloons, a fantastic cake was made by the team in the kitchen and, of course, she got her card from King Charles III.
“Winnie was especially pleased as we had a singalong with Stan from Hot Tin Roof on her birthday which everyone enjoyed.”
