Spotlight On: Maria Hempson, Downham Market

Next in the ‘Spotlight On’ series, Team Leader Marilyn Hopwood and Care Coordinator Melissa Palmer presented Maria Hempson with her five year service award. They also conducted the Spotlight On interview with the Downham Market so we can all find out more about her:

Q1: What is your name and job title?

Maria Hempson, I work as a care worker for the Downham Market team.

Q2: What is your job role at Manorcourt and when did you start working here?

I started work for Manorcourt on 5th October 2015. I work as a care worker so spend my time supporting our clients in their own homes.

Q3: In the last three months, what have you enjoyed most about your job. Is there a specific example that has stood out?

It’s great being appreciated for everything that I do and making a difference to the clients.

Q4: What is your favourite part of your working day?

Getting up and thinking what challenges I am going to face today.

Q5: What is one thing your colleagues don’t know about you?

I am always smiling, no matter what.

Q6: What is the most challenging part of your working day, how do you get through this?

Some clients have more challenging conditions than others, but we always work together.

Q6: Outside of work, what is your favourite thing to do?

Going out and about to visit new places.
