
Residents from Albany Care Home enjoyed a day at the seaside with residents and staff from Tenchley Manor, both part of Healthcare Homes.
Albany residents’ seaside wish came true when residents from Albany Care Home travelled to Tenchley Manor in Selsey for a special day by the coast.
Residents, relatives and staff travelled from the Headington care home to West Sussex, where they spent the day with residents and colleagues at Tenchley Manor. Both homes are part of the Healthcare Homes group.
Albany residents’ seaside wish becomes reality
The visit gave residents the chance to enjoy a classic British seaside day. After arriving in Selsey, the group headed to the seafront for fish and chips while taking in the coastal views.

Ice creams from a nearby van completed the outing, while some residents took the opportunity to paddle in the sea. Others preferred to relax by the prom and enjoy the fresh sea air.
For many residents, visiting the seaside had been something they had wanted to do for a long time. The team worked together to turn that wish into reality.

Healthcare Homes communities come together
The day also brought together residents from Albany Care Home and Tenchley Manor, giving everyone the opportunity to spend time together and enjoy the coast.
An Albany Care Home team member said: “Seeing residents enjoying the seaside was incredibly special. It had been a long-time wish for many of them, so being able to make the trip happen meant a great deal. We are very grateful to everyone at Tenchley Manor for their warm welcome and for helping make the day such a success.”
