Walcot Hall hosts an Alpaca Afternoon Tea

Walcot Hall, located in Diss and part of the Healthcare Homes group, celebrated Care Home Open Week with a unique and enchanting event – an Alpaca Afternoon Tea. This special occasion brought immense joy and excitement to both residents and staff, marking a memorable highlight in the home’s calendar.

A brilliant afternoon

The event featured a delightful afternoon tea, complemented by the presence of several friendly alpacas. These gentle animals mingled with the residents, providing therapeutic interaction and entertainment. The smiles and laughter shared among the residents and team members underscored the success of the event.

The Alpaca Afternoon Tea was part of a broader initiative to engage the community and showcase the vibrant life at Walcot Hall during Care Home Open Week. The week-long celebration aimed to build connections between the care home and the local community, highlighting the fun activities and compassionate care provided to residents.

Creating special moments

“We wanted to create an event that would bring joy and a sense of novelty to our residents, and the Alpaca Afternoon Tea did just that,” said Connie Hughes, Manager of Walcot Hall. “Seeing the residents interact with the alpacas and enjoy their afternoon tea was truly amazing. It’s events like these that remind us of the importance of creating special moments for those in our care.”

Residents expressed their delight at the unusual and delightful company. The alpacas, known for their calm and friendly nature, were a hit and sparked lively conversations.

Committed to care

The team at Walcot Hall, alongside volunteers and community members, worked diligently to ensure the event was a success. Their dedication to providing exceptional care and creating joyful experiences for residents is a testament to the home’s commitment to excellence.

Healthcare Homes and Walcot Hall are proud to have hosted such a successful event and look forward to continuing to provide innovative and enjoyable activities for their residents and the local community.
