Dedicated Vicky is hero at Norwich Branch

Healthcare Homes colleagues were delighted to get together at a company conference and awards last week to recognize staff and teams who work throughout our family of 48 homes and 11 homecare branches.

And whilst it was recognized that every health and social care employee is undoubtedly a hero, and every Healthcare Homes team was awarded an Inspirational Team of the Year Award, managers had also been asked to recommend individuals for the Hero Awards 2022.

Vicky Nunn, who works at the Norwich Branch of Manorcourt Homecare was one of 24 individuals honored with a Hero Award.

Vicky has worked for Manorcourt for almost five years, and has proven herself to be incredibly dedicated and utterly reliable.

Vicky is a ‘walker’ (in other words a non-driver) and ordinarily covers an area near to her home. However when the branch was hit by Covid and staffing was critical in the Norwich area, Vicky would travel 45 minutes on a bus and then walk from the station to the branch, whatever the weather, to join a colleague on a double assist round.

Vicky comes in smiling, never complains and just cracks on with things. If the branch send out an SOS, Vicky is always the first on the phone to ask what she can do to help.

She is described as a truly exceptional and enormously valuable member of the team – who certainly goes above and beyond.

Gordon Cochrane, chief executive officer, told the audience, “ I’m delighted to say that we were inundated with nominations for people that managers wanted to be recognized as absolute stars, the backbones of our homes and branches, the heroes we simply cannot do without and Vicky is one of those heroes.”
