Haughgate House care home welcomes SERV Motorbikes

Haughgate House was delighted to host a unique and exciting visit from SERV Motorbikes and a local police officer, Stephen. The event brought smiles and joy to the residents, providing an opportunity to engage with the community and learn more about the vital services these professionals provide.

SERV Motorbikes

The visit was organised as part of Haughgate House’s ongoing commitment to creating enriching experiences for its residents. SERV (Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers) Motorbikes, a charity that provides essential transportation of blood, medical supplies, and equipment to hospitals, showcased their impressive motorbikes. Residents had the chance to get up close to these vehicles, which play a crucial role in saving lives.

Local police

Adding to the excitement, Stephen, the local police officer, attended the event in full uniform, bringing along his police motorbike. Residents were thrilled to see the uniform up close and hear first-hand about the day-to-day experiences of a police officer. Stephen shared stories about his work, answered questions, and even allowed residents to try on some of his gear.

Engaging and rewarding activities at Haughgate House

The Home Manager, Agnieszka McDonald, said: “We are incredibly grateful to SERV Motorbikes and to Stephen, for taking the time to visit us. These kinds of experiences are invaluable in keeping our residents engaged and connected with the wider community.”

The visit was met with enthusiasm by both residents and team, who enjoyed the opportunity to learn more about the vital services provided by SERV Motorbikes and the police force. Events like these are part of Haughgate House’s broader mission to ensure that residents not only receive excellent care but also lead fulfilling and active lives.
