Avon Lodge Care Home in Kingswood, Bristol, held a day celebrating classic Disney films, with staff dressing up as some of the characters residents would recognise.

Snow White, Cinderella and Mary Poppins were among the characters who made an appearance as staff and residents enjoyed a day of Disney magic.

Michael Hatch, whose wife Margaret is a resident at Avon Lodge, decided to join in by taking on the role of Prince Charming.

Michael was given a fluffy slipper and, playing along with the famous Cinderella story, began trying it on residents around the home.

Several residents had a go as Michael worked his way around the home, but the slipper wasn’t quite the right fit.

He eventually made his way to his wife, Margaret, and gave the slipper another try.

This time, it fitted.

Margaret was the only resident who managed to get the slipper on, giving Michael and his wife their own version of the Cinderella story.

Avon Lodge regularly holds themed days and activities for residents, including music, arts and crafts, reminiscence sessions, social groups and seasonal events.

The care home provides residential, nursing and dementia care in Kingswood, Bristol, as well as respite and palliative care.

For Michael, there was only ever one Cinderella. He had already found his Margaret.
