Residents at Walcot Hall Nursing Home welcomed family members, friends and staff for the Walcot Hall Summer Fete on Friday 4 July.
This year’s event celebrated U.S. Independence Day with a Stars and Stripes theme. The home displayed red, white and blue decorations, while everyone enjoyed an afternoon of entertainment, refreshments and conversation.
The Mayor of Diss, Councillor Declan Craggs, officially opened the fete. Afterwards, he spent time chatting with residents and visitors.

Local singer Louise performed throughout the afternoon, residents joined in with many of the songs and enjoyed the live music and then later, even Elvis made a surprise appearance.
Larry the PAT dog also stopped by the home. He visited residents around Walcot Hall and enjoyed plenty of attention from residents and their families.

The Walcot Hall Summer Fete is one of many events organised throughout the year. As well as seasonal celebrations, residents enjoy live music, visiting entertainers, animal visits and community events.
The activities team plans the programme with residents, so it reflects their interests and hobbies. As a result, there is always something different to enjoy.
Walcot Hall sits in Walcot Green, near Diss, and provides residential and nursing care.
Every bedroom overlooks the gardens, lake or surrounding countryside. In addition, residents have access to spacious communal areas, an on-site hair salon and more than three acres of landscaped grounds.
