Support roles
It takes a whole variety of people across different roles to keep our homes running and our residents happy, comfortable and well.
From the catering teams who ensure our residents enjoy tasty and nutritious meals, our activities teams who organise fun and meaningful pursuits, to our maintenance teams who keep the home safe and operational, everyone plays a vital role within the home’s community.
If you’re a naturally caring person looking for a role where you can give something back and make a difference to people’s lives, we’re sure to have something for you.
Fundamental to residents’ sense of wellbeing and social enhancement, our activities teams play a key part in ensuring the routines and daily activities they undertake are varied, stimulating and fun. Working in an activities role really enables you to bring out your creativity, adapting programmes that respect individuals needs, wants and dislikes while also establishing links and encouraging their involvement with the local community.
Home administrators and receptionists are central to the lives of the people we support and their families. As a receptionist you are the face of your care home, greeting visitors and relatives when they arrive and dealing with initial queries over the telephone, whilst administrators are crucial to supporting Home Managers with the business functioning of the home.
Our chefs and catering assistants devise and cook weekly menus designed to meet the nutritional and dietary needs of our residents while being delicious and well-presented. As a vital member of the home’s staff team, you won’t just be confined to the kitchen – we’ll encourage you to get out and about in the home getting to know our residents along with their likes and dislikes.
Our housekeeping teams are responsible for the cleanliness and overall appearance of our homes, in both the communal areas and individual rooms, as well as taking care of our residents’ personal laundry. As a member of the team, you’ll take pleasure in making sure our residents’ surroundings look their very best while remaining respectful of their belongings and personal space.
Our maintenance and gardening teams oversee the upkeep of our homes and gardens, including painting, decorating, repairs and basic plumbing and electrical work. As a member of the team, you’ll take huge pride in maintaining our care homes to the highest possible standards to ensure they are safe, are a source of enjoyment and immense pleasure for our residents and their families, and create the best first impression for visitors.
A caring and compassionate nature, commitment to residents and colleagues, and a willingness to learn are the first things we look for in the people who join our home support teams.
Each type of role will have its own requirements regarding skills and experience, but you generally don’t need to have worked in a care home before. You will need to have had both of your Covid-19 vaccinations though
