During this time, he guided the home through a risk of closure. His leadership, resilience, and commitment helped protect essential care services.

In 2017, Stuart first joined Healthcare Homes as Home Manager at Fornham House.  He then moved to the Royal British Legion. There, he oversaw six nursing homes across the UK as Operations Manager. He is now returning to Fornham House,  bringing extensive operational and management experience to support residents, families, and the staff team.

Plans for the future of care

Stuart plans to build on Fornham House’s reputation as a warm, welcoming, and safe environment. He wants residents to feel empowered to live life according to their preferences. At the same time, he aims to keep staff motivated, supported, and confident in their roles.

“I want Fornham House to be a place where residents can live the life they choose. In addition, I want our team to feel happy, motivated, and confident to share ideas. Staff wellbeing matters to me, and I enjoy supporting, coaching, and celebrating our successes together,” Stuart said.

“The home already has a welcoming atmosphere. By developing it further, I hope every resident continues to feels at home. Together, we can continue to make Fornham a place of comfort, joy, and opportunity.”

Leading by example

Stuart describes his leadership style as calm, empathetic, and determined. He focuses on residents’ needs in every decision. He plans to introduce initiatives that improve care quality, encourage social engagement, and create meaningful experiences for residents. Moreover, he intends to involve families closely in the care process. This approach provides reassurance and support at every stage.

“Residents will always guide our decisions. Although we may not always get everything right, we will remain open, honest, and focused on learning and improving,” he explained.

Healthcare Homes warmly welcomes Stuart Coleman back to Fornham House. With his leadership and vision, the team looks forward to an exciting new chapter. They will continue delivering exceptional care and support to residents and their families.
