Staff at Saxlingham Hall celebrate 104 years’ service

A trio of staff at Saxlingham Hall were congratulated and thanked for their service, totaling more than 100 years between them, during a retirement party for one of the team.

A party was held for Christine Wright who was retiring from her role as kitchen assistant at the home in Saxlingham Nethergate after 34 years of service.

At the same time, as an extra surprise, two service recognition awards were given out to Health Care Assistant Jennie Utting and Activities Coordinator Tina Beckett who have both completed 35 years so far at Saxlingham Hall.

Home Manager Helen Harvey said, “The sun shone brightly as residents, friends, families, and staff, old and new, came together to celebrate Christine’s retirement, and our CEO Gordon Cochrane was on hand to present Christine with her flowers and bubbly.

“Christine was overwhelmed especially when other staff from Saxlingham gave her cards and gifts too. We enjoyed a wonderful spread of quiche; sausage rolls and nibbles along with a specially made retirement cake.”

Gordon also presented Jennie and Tina with flowers, certificate, badges, and a voucher each in recognition of their service to the home.
