Emergency service workers in Ipswich have received a sweet thank you from Handford House to mark National Emergency Services Day.
Also known as 999 Day, September 9 recognises the people who answer emergency calls and respond when help is needed.
Handford House in Cumberland Street marked the day by delivering cakes and treats to local emergency service teams.
Nicolas Pearkes, Activities Coordinator at Handford House, made the visits and handed over the goodies.
The gesture gave the care home a chance to recognise the work of emergency service staff across Ipswich.

999 Day takes place on September 9 each year. The date reflects the UK’s emergency telephone number.
The day recognises everyone involved in emergency response. This includes call handlers, ambulance crews, firefighters and police officers.
Agnieszka McDonald, Home Manager at Handford House, said: “999 Day is a great opportunity to recognise the emergency services and the vital work they do for people in Ipswich and across the country.
“They are there for people when they need them most. We wanted to take the time to say thank you.
“Taking along some cakes and treats was our way of showing how much we appreciate everything they do for our community.”

The 999 Day visit gave Handford House an opportunity to recognise the emergency service workers who support people across Ipswich and the surrounding area.
