Home Manager’s presentation earns International recognition for Kingsley Court

Shiny Mathappan, the Home Manager of Kingsley Court Care Home in Hayes, Middlesex, delivered an outstanding presentation today to a multinational audience, impressing professionals from Norway, America, and the UK. The presentation highlighted the remarkable work being done at Kingsley Court, an 85-bedded care facility specialising in dementia, frailty, and palliative care, which has earned national recognition with three consecutive Top 10 & Top 20 Care Home Awards.

Shiny’s captivating talk showcased the home’s commitment to cultural diversity, with residents and staff hailing from a variety of backgrounds. She also shared the home’s dedication to celebrating a wide range of traditions and customs, ensuring that residents feel at home, no matter their heritage.

Representatives from the United States were so impressed by Shiny’s presentation that they have confirmed a visit to Kingsley Court this summer. Meanwhile, Shiny herself has been invited to Norway to deliver a presentation, further solidifying Kingsley Court’s reputation for excellence on the international stage.

“I am beyond grateful for the incredible support of my staff, residents, and their families, whose dedication continues to inspire me every day,” said Shiny. “Our shared vision is to provide exceptional care, and it’s an honour to be recognised for our efforts, not only in our daily work but also in our ongoing collaborations with esteemed institutions like King’s College London, Kingston University, and NHS Southwest London.”

Shiny has been involved with innovative approaches to care, including collaborations on sleep disturbance research, genetic analysis, nutritional balance, and hydration pilot initiatives. Looking to the future, the home aims to continue empowering staff, focusing on a resident-centric approach, and developing initiatives such as multi-sensory therapy spaces and monthly wellness workshops. Shiny’s leadership has also brought sustainable green initiatives and cultural memory projects to life, further enhancing the home’s commitment to providing holistic care.
