
A total of 85 years spent working at Uvedale Hall care home in Needham Market were celebrated this week as seven members of staff received long service awards.
Two members of staff received awards for 20 years, four received awards for 10 years and one award was made for five years’ service bringing the total to a wonderful 85 years at the home, which is part of Healthcare Homes family of 48 care homes and 11 Manorcourt homecare branches.
Home Manager Suzanne York said, “The care sector has been through a lot in the last couple of years and it is people like we have on the team here at Uvedale Hall who make it a great place to work and have kept us all going.
“Their dedication and commitment to their work and to our residents is outstanding and it is well deserved for them to be recognised and celebrated by the staff team, our residents and the company – I am delighted they are all members of my team, part of the family here at Uvedale Hall.”
The awards recipients were –
Julie Cobbold – 20 years. Julie is the longest serving care worker at Uvedale Hall, well loved by staff, residents and their families.
Nicki Jolly – 20 years. Nicki has worked in many roles at Uvedale Hall, she was a member of the care team and then moved across to the domestic/hostess side. The residents’ needs are paramount in all she does regardless of the role she works in.
Jo Watson – 10 years. Jo is the administrator of the home, but her role is far more wide reaching. She knows all the staff, the residents and their loved ones and they feel they know her too, we don’t know what we would do without her.
Venetia Rozier – 10 years. V was only teenager when she started working at Uvedale Hall, and has always been on the domestic/hostess team. She is dedicated to the home and is a valuable member of the team.
Sorrell Chatfield – 10 years. Sorrell came as a teenager and has worked in a number of roles, currently working as a carer. She is on maternity leave after having her second child, her children are also part of the Uvedale Hall family.
Anna Coker – 10 years. Head Housekeeper Anna is the backbone of the home. The residents’ adore her and she has the biggest heart there is.
Di Rendell – 5 years. One of our domestic/hostess team Di is our mother figure who we go to for help and advice. Di retired and then came to work at Uvedale Hall, she puts the residents first in everything she does.

Area Manager Donna Owen presented each member of staff with a bottle of bubbles and there were flowers and certificates presented by Healthcare Homes’ Chief Operating Officer Helen Gidlow and Uvedale Hall’s oldest resident Ken, 103.
Helen said, “The team here at Uvedale Hall are simply amazing. The feeling here is so warm and welcoming – truly a family worth celebrating.”
