Ladymead care home celebrates 30th anniversary

On Saturday, August 23, residents, families, staff, and members of the local community joined Ladymead Care Home in Wroughton, Swindon to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The lively summer fete marked three decades of compassionate, resident-centred care. Dr John Godfree, the local preacher who originally opened the home in 1995, returned as a special guest. In addition, Councillor Neil Hopkins, the Deputy Mayor of Swindon, attended and expressed his delight at the milestone event.

Home Manager Byju Vasudevan said:

“Our Summer Fete always highlights the year, but this one felt extra special as we celebrated Ladymead’s 30th anniversary. It was wonderful to welcome back Dr. John Godfree, who opened our celebration and was also at the home’s original opening three decades ago. Seeing residents enjoying themselves, families spending time together, and the local community showing such great support warmed my heart.”

The fete featured a variety of entertainment and activities. Residents enjoyed live music and performances by Cally Fraglistic. Families and staff joined in games and interactive activities. Meanwhile, residents took part in fun competitions and shared stories with one another. In addition, the event gave volunteers and staff an opportunity to showcase their dedication.
