Oaktree, part of Healthcare Homes, has proudly won the 20 Years InBloom Healthcare Homes Award for its creative and sustainable 20th anniversary project. The award celebrates homes that demonstrate innovation, sustainability, and resident involvement, and Oaktree’s entry stood out for its originality and community spirit.

A Creative and Sustainable Celebration
For the project, the Oaktree team collected 20 different cut flowers from their garden, repurposed glass jars as vases, and decorated cardboard boxes to create an eco-friendly display. In addition, they used Hapazome, a Japanese flower-printing technique, to make celebratory banners featuring the number “20” and the names of all residents.
These displays were not only beautiful but also highlighted Oaktree’s dedication to sustainability and creativity. Moreover, they involved residents in every step of the process. This hands-on approach gave everyone a sense of pride and belonging, making the celebration even more meaningful.

Recognition from Sir David Attenborough
The initiative was part of a wider competition across the Healthcare Homes group. Consequently, all participating homes received a congratulatory letter from Sir David Attenborough, who wrote:
“I am so glad your InBloom initiative has proved such a success that it is returning this year. Congratulations.”

Oaktree – Modern Care with a Homely Feel
