The Old Vicarage has introduced a new award to recognise residents who go the extra mile in making others feel welcome.
The ‘Welcoming Ambassador’ award, created by Deputy Manager Debbie Harrigan, was presented for the first time on the 5th March, to the much-loved Rosemary, in recognition of her kindness and compassion.
Rosemary is known throughout the home for her friendly and caring nature. She takes great pride in ensuring new residents feel at ease, often going out of her way to introduce herself, offer reassurance, and help them settle into life at The Old Vicarage. Her personal motto, “everyone deserves 10 minutes of love and kindness,” is something she lives by every day.
Home Manager Yvonne and Deputy Manager Debbie were pleased to present Rosemary with the award, which was established to honour residents who bring warmth and positivity to the home. Debbie shared her thoughts on the award, explaining, “Moving into a care home can be a big transition, and having someone like Rosemary, who naturally offers kindness and reassurance, makes all the difference. She has a remarkable ability to make people feel at ease, and we wanted to recognise the positive impact she has on the home.”
Looking ahead, The Old Vicarage is excited to continue recognising residents for their contributions and ensuring everyone who steps through the door is greeted with warmth and friendship.
